How to Remove a Whittier Drawer with Full Extension, Metal Ball Bearing Slides:
Sometimes you just need to get a drawer out and here's how.
Whittier's drawer boxes come with high quality, metal ball bearing slides that can be easily removed if you know the trick. Here's how to remove drawers from our furniture.

To remove the drawer:
1. First pull the drawer all the way out to expose the black slide levers.
2. Using both hands - push the lever up on the left side and push the black lever down on the right side while pulling the drawer evenly out.

If the drawer pulls out of alignment while trying to pull it out, push/pull gently until even and pull again. Sometimes pushing it back in and trying again works best. The key is not to force it!
To reinsert the drawer:

1. First, push the slide receivers back into the slide so it is flush with the face of the furniture.
2. Match the brackets on both sides to fit the channel groves then push evenly on drawer box until all the way in. There should be some resistance. Especially as you get to the last 1/3 of the drawer.

If the drawer goes in uneven, this could risk breaking the slides. It's fun to see the little bearing popping out all over but not ideal for use. Going slow and steady will ensure it goes in smoothly. If it refuses to go, double check that the slides are in the channels.
And what about interlocking drawers?
Here's how:

1. First, remove the first drawer with the interlock following the original instructions.
2. To remove another drawer, push the Snapper lever back on the drawer previously removed to unlock the drawer below/above.

To reinsert an interlocking drawer:

1. First, push the slide receivers back into the slide so it is flush with the face of the furniture. Then, pull the Snapper forward. Without pulling the lever forward the drawer cannot be inserted.
2. Match the brackets on both sides to fit the channel groves then push evenly on drawer box until all the way in. There should be some resistance. Especially as you get to the last 1/3 of the drawer. You will hear a click when the Snapper has been correctly inserted.
Open and close the drawer to ensure the slides secure. Instructions can be found in the Owner's Manual that is included with your furniture. If you don't have one, you can download the Owner's Manual here.
