How to Attach Whittier's Tipping Restraint:
Keeping you safe, one strap at a time.
Whittier's unique Tipping Restraint is preattached to all cases and Bookcases 36" and taller. It's design allows for attachment at the base board level instead of a stud you can never find! And the best part: NO HOLES IN THE WALL. Here's how to attach Whittier's tipping restraint.

Tools needed:
1. Pencil.
2. Drill with Phillips bit or Phillips screwdriver to insert the screw.

Place the bracket, with the strap attached on the mark and drill the screws at a 45 degree angle into the subflooring. Please note, if you have concrete floors, the attached tipping restraint will not work! We would be happy to provide one for free, just reach out to us at support@whittierwood.com.

Once the bracket is installed, move the furniture flush against the wall and pull the strap tight:
1. Once the furniture is pushed where it needs to be locate the end of the strap underneath.
2. Pull until the strap is tight.

Whittier's unique tipping restraint anchors the furniture at the base for a Hole free solution.
What if I need to move my furniture?
Here's how:

1. First, locate the release clip on the tipping restraint clasp.
2. Using your finger, lift the lever and loosen the strap.
3. Move the furniture aside to remove the screws.
4. Move to the new location and attach.
More to it than just a strap:
Safety is very important to Whittier Wood Furniture. We strive to keep our customer safe and informed about the dangers of unsecured furniture. We have partnered with Charlies House to bring awareness. Whittier made this strap option for those who can never find that stud in the wall (me) and make it easier to use.
We also offer a video for installation here.
